Indonesian authorities have commenced criminal prosecution of a male nurse, who was arrested for stripping off his protective clothing (PPE) to have same-sex intercourse with a COVID-19 patient at the Wisma Atlet quarantine facility in the capital city Jakarta.

An Indonesian regional military official, Arh Herwin, told local media that the case had been transferred to the Central Jakarta Police, wherein the suspended health worker and his lover would be summoned for breaching the country’s anti-pornography (Electronic Information and Transactions, ITE) laws.

The duo, who face up to 10 years imprisonment if convicted for the crime, were said to have engaged in a sex romp in the bathroom of the quarantine facility last week.

The steamy sexual affair, however, became public knowledge when the patient boasted about the romp on social media, while uploading screenshots of erotic exchanges in a chat with the nurse, local news reports said.

The patient also shared a photo of the nurse’s PPE suit dumped on the floor as the horny pair engaged in the affair.

Both men have since owned up to the act following their arrest, Mr. Herwin said.

The official added that while the patient remains positive and in isolation for coronavirus, the nurse had tested negative for the dreadful virus.
