The Nigerian Air Force has identified its personnel involved in flogging civilians for defaulting curfew in Ilesha in Osun State.

A video surfaced on Wednesday showing some armed Airforce officers flogging civilians in a muddy environment.
A Twitter user, had posted the video online with serious condemnation of the military.

The Air Force in a tweet on Wednesday disclosed that all personnel shown in the video have been arrested and investigation has commenced, after which, appropriate disciplinary will be taken

“The attention of @NigAirForce has been drawn to a video showing some personnel flogging/meting out corporal punishment on suspected hoodlums involved in criminal activities during the imposed curfew in Ilesha.
“We wish to inform the general public that @NigAirForce has identified all the personnel involved in the incident & placed them on close arrest, while investigation to determine their level culpability has commenced, after which appropriate disciplinary action will be taken,” the statement said.

Members of the Nigerian armed forces, especially Nigerian Army soldiers, have been regularly inflicting corporal punishment on civilians.
The disdain for citizens has continued despite years of campaign against it even my military authorities.

Nigerians on social media commended the Air Force for quickly addressing the matter and asked the Army to learn from it.
