FG issues COVID-19 restrictions, workers to stay at home
Fresh restrictions have been issued by the Nigerian government in light of the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country.
In a circular obtained by the Peoples Gazette, the Head of Service, Folashade Mejabi Yemi-Esan, directed civil servants from Grade Level 12 and below to work from home until the end of February.
The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, briefed the task force on Monday, in Abuja.
The restrictions include the closure of bars, nightclubs, pubs, event centres, as well as recreational venues in all states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Restaurants were directed to shut down, with the exception of those providing delivery services to hotel residents, takeaways, home deliveries, and drive-ins.
All events have been restricted to not more than 50 people.
Religious centres are required to ensure social distancing and the use of face masks with gatherings limited to less than 50 percent.
