Wizkid clinches MOBO awards over Davido, Burnaboy
Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun has clinched the Best African Act at the Music of Black Origin ( MOBO) awards for 2020.
Wizkid landed the honour for his recent hit ‘Made in Lagos’. He beat his fellow countrymen Davido and Burnaboy to secure the highly coveted award .
Burnaboy won the same category last year with ‘African Giant’. Davido’s recent album “A Better Time” was nominated for the award.
Nigerian artists who have previously won the coveted award also include D’banj and TuFace.
Wizkid, who was recently signed to Sony Music, started his music career with Empire Music Entertainment ( EME) under label executive BankyW in 2009.
Hit tracks in the album include ‘No Stress’, which featured Terri and others.
