Fire outbreak at Immigration headquarters

NIS assured the public that investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire outbreak.

A fire outbreak razed some offices in the premises of Nigerian Immigration Service Headquarters, Abuja on Sunday.

Nigerian Immigration Service, in a series of tweets on Sunday, said the fire outbreak which affected some offices in the headquarters is yet unknown.

Efforts by the Federal Fire Service and other agencies around the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport helped in putting off the fire, the Service said.

“A fire incident occurred in our Service Headquarters this Morning. It affected some of our Offices. The fire has been put out by our Federal Fire Station and support from other agencies around the Airport”, NIS said.

NIS assured the public that investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire outbreak and the incident will in no way affect its operations.

“The cause of the fire is being investigated’, NIS said. “We assure the public that the incident will not in any way affect the discharge of our services.”
