FLASH: Tems slams Bebe Cool for allegedly orchestrating her arrest in Uganda
Nigerian act, Tems, has accused Ugandan artiste Bebe Cool of masterminding her arrest alongside another artiste Omah Lay and Muyiwa Awoniyi, an artist manager.
Tems and Omah Lay had both been arrested last week in Uganda for flouting COVID-19 regulations on mass gathering by the Ugandan Police. The duo of Tems and Omah Lay were subsequently charged to court before the Nigerian Embassy intervened to secure their release.
Davido had in a tweet asked Bebe Cool to assist in the release of these artistes while they were being detained. Bebe Cool was also seen announcing the settlement of their charges in a tweet where he pointed out that the artistes will be released.
Bebe Cool also claimed to have facilitated their release while describing Omah Lay as his “younger brother.”
Omah Lay and Tems have both been released and have returned to Nigeria after the Ugandan police dropped charges against them. The Ugandan authorities has also apologized to the Nigerian government for the arrest.
Prior to their release, some Ugandan artistes were seen in videos online criticising Omah Lay and Tems for coming to perform in their country while the authorities had barred indigenous artistes from organising shows.
