‘Destiny’, a track off Burna Boy’s widely accepted album dubbed “African Giant” has been included in the inauguration playlist of incoming U.S. president Joe Biden and vice-president Kamala Harris.

The 13th track off the Grammy-nominated album, is the only Nigerian song in the playlist.

The inauguration playlist was compiled by DJ D-Nice and Issa Rae‘s music company Raedio in partnership with the presidential Inauguration Company to fit the “rich diversity America.”

According to the Inauguration Committee CEO, Tony Allen, music is the only vehicle that kept the country connected during a turbulent year.

“During a tumultuous year that has kept so many loved ones apart, music has been a consistent vehicle that has kept us connected,” Mr. Allen said .

“These songs and artists reflect the relentless spirit and rich diversity of America. They are the score to a new chapter and will help bring people together as the Biden-Harris administration begins its important work to unite our country,” he added.

Other songs on the playlist include Beyoncé’s ‘Find Your Way Back’, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige‘s ‘Now Or Never,’ Kygo and Whitney Houston‘s ‘Higher Love’ and Marvin Gaye‘s ‘Got To Give It Up.’

Mr. Biden defeated outgoing Donald Trump following a tenuous vote on November 3.
